Archi replied. Thanks Hetal and swapna for your advise. Will try to start slow o9n single cereals and see how she takes it. Well her head is kind of steady and she has doubled her birth weight.

apart from what sapna said, dont force your baby to take on solids,,go slow.
dont start solids until your dr actually feels right to do so...even though its a personal decision, let the dr be the best person to decide,,he has seen the grwth of your baby and he knows it well when to start..at 4months or 6months.
6montths is the best, unless wat sapna told is all hapnng to you.
the qty at 4months should be single grain cereals or ragi, of 1-2tablespoon per meal..,start with 1 meal n increase the qty as needed...
until 5months over, avoid startng ne fruits,,,good luck
Swapna replied. My ped' s office gave a handout that said that solids be started if baby has complete head control, has doubled birth weight, eats over 32 oz of formula or 8-10 breast feedings. So if you plan to start, start with single grain cereal like rice or oatmeal and then move onto single veggies like peas, beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash and single fruits like mashed bananas, applesauce, pears, prunes, peaches etc. If your baby takes well to first stage ,you can move to second stage of combined foods.
