I also have been dioagnosed with TB in uterus 2nd time! I had been diagnosed in 2005- took ATT meds for 9 months , spoke to Dr Sadhna Desai in Mumbai who said u wasted 1 yr in taking meds for Tb as it does not hamper conception and after that the tests- both blood and a flourescent tissue test showed negative. So I had IVF thrice- but my endo thickness was low usually 6.4-7.1mm. Last IVF resulted in miscarraige. We went to another doc Dr Anoop Gupta who did Mycrobacterium tissue sample test which they say is positive. We have spent already 30-40K on tests here and it seems like we r going backwards. Does Tb really affects conception. Don' t think have patience for another round of ATT anti tb meds for atleast 3-6 months before TTC. Thinking of going to Dr Sadhna Desai and taking 2nd opinion. After trying for almost 4 years finally went to see a infertility expert . She did series of tests and was diogonised with uterus TB. It hampers conception trust me. After completion of medication i conceived following years and now a mother of a beautiful kid.

Do not take it lightly . Meet Dr. S.N. Basu she is an infertility expert and worth appreciating. She is damn good and very positive approach.

She is chairperson of of IVF centre of Jaipur Golden hospital and has Private clinic with the name Priory .

She is patient, gold medalist and has received Rashtrapathi award.

Do meet her once , though expensive.

Actually , tb can affect conception if the healed endometrium is not thick enough to support the embryo, it should be above 8-9 mm .I am yet to try ivf again,,just waiting.

Was ur PCR DNA/RNA for TB done before the 2nd attempt ?? and on what basis were u diagnosed to have endometrial tb, are ur tubes blocked or open ??

In ur case , there are two possibilities - one TB has recurred , confirm with tissue currettings to be done pre menstrually , other possibility is complete cure , but some scarring with the healed endometrium being thin , but the fact that u miscarried in the fourth IVF means u definitely have chance for success next time...wish u success and lots of prayers ur way. WHY dont u mail Dr Aniruddh Malpani,Mumbai IVF doc at his website for free second opinion , it helped me a lot.
