My year old son jst wont drink milk or water. i have started to wean him off and now he gets breastmilk once in the night. To compensate, i started giving him milk..have tried nandini and heritage but he dislikes both. i give him daal-rice n veggies for lunch and dinner and give him raagi ganji in the morning and the evening. interestingly, he has milk with ganji but does not take pure milk. Even I had the same problem when I introduced cows milk to my daughter at 10 months, she simply refused to drink it. She never drank formula also.
So I used to give her porridge(oats, ragi, sooji) made with milk and fruit shake. She liked both of these. Later I realised that she is both hungry and thirsty when she wakes up in the morning. She used to drink a little milk first thing in the morning. I guess that helped her get used to the taste. Now (13 months) she drinks 1/2 glass in the morning and the same qty again in the evening. Apart from this I give her porridge and curds (she loves curds) So I guess she is getting enough milk in one way or another. U have to be patient and try offering it at diff times and in diff forms. of indian home made horlicks....

take nachni powder, little wheat flour, roast it...put pwoderd cardamom n dry fruits ....add milk...sugar..cook...properly ..thats it....

also u can gv him milkshake..my daughter jsut loves it.....she too doesnt like milk but she will have milkshake or nachni kanji....

u can make roti for him in milk..try gving him cheese. ...gv him rava kanji...

but dont gv horlicks or bournvita...it has chocolate...rmbr....not good gauri replied. dont ever think of giving bournvita...horlick. so soon no way...i had come across one very good recipe of making horlicks at home ...
