i am married since a couple of years and i am very very depressed due to few reasons .my hubby is really a gem of a person .he had no affairs before marriage ,no bad habits ,no vices.he gives me more importance than any one else in this world but my problem is that his folks(relatives)have somehow made me feel that hewas very choosy in selecting a girl for marriage and whan he selected me they were very shocked ,i mean they couldnt undestand why he agreed .he is software professoinal and i am just a post graduate with average looks and average educational qualification.after our wedding things never went good with my hubby he suffered on the career front and now he is setteled witrh a low paying and dissatisfying job .life has changed a lot for him after we got married we had to come back to india and now have no friends and are socially isolated.my hubby never complains but i can feel the pain he feels and this makes me guilty that some how i am the cause of all this misery.some times i cry a lot seeing him depressed but never show him my tears as that will deperss him more.i try to talk to him but he smiles and says every thing is ok .i always used to believe that godgives good things to good people but then why did he do somethinglike this to him he is so good not only to me but to every body so sensitive towards others then yy did god do this to him.
this depression and guilt is killing me i want to help him but dont know how .please pray for us .and tell me what should i do so that i stop feeling guilty and do not regret of what we have lost after our marriage.
A replied. Dear Amisha,
First of all you should stop feeling guilty. You are not the one who is responsible for whatever has happened. Everybody has to go through different phases in life. Even if you are not an engineer, you still are post-graduate, you can take over some job to help him financially. At this phase of depression, the thing he needs the most is encouragement and cheering and you can make his life much easier by giving him that. As per in-laws are concerned, don't bother about what they say as long as your hubby loves you. You can just smile and tell them to ask their son what he has seen in you. Don't shed tears over something that is not your fault. You can still make life more lively by being cheerful and encouraging in this phase of life.
