Hi,
What age do you get books for your baby? My 9 month old has had 2 picture books since he was 7 but all he does is eat them. Also, can anyone tell me a good place to order them online?
Thanx,
Parul.

hi ! parul, i am a mother of a 1 yr. old baby girl. i got colorful baby books (made of cloth and soft chewable material) for my baby when she turned 4 months. and believe me she loves all those books i used to show her then and even now she seems interested in them and wants me to read out to her more and more. her doctor had suggested this and so we got them for her at such a young age. but the idea behind this is that the colorful pictures that children see really excites them. and the noise that the pages make when u turn them. so this way u can generate interst in them towards a healthy reading habbit. books r all over the place. any books store or if u're in the US then any baby store will carry them. hope this helps u ! all the best !

Hi,
I have a 17 mnth old daughter. When she was ur kid's age she too would chew on to whatever books she could lay her hand on. But now for the last 4 months she has gradually grown some interest in books ( specially those with bright pics and poems etc). She has 2-3 favourite books .. one poem book, one alphabet book and one short stories(with lots of pictures) book. I guess 9 months is really very early to appreciate the fun in going thru books. What u can do is keep the book open in ur lap and if its a poem book , recite the poem with lots of action and animation. Ur kid will love it. And gradually he will be able to relate the poems with the book and grow interested in it. I did the same with my daughter.
Hope this helps
