read ur post.. but then the doc insisted me to get the IUI done even if sperms were dead.. are there any adverse affects due to this??? is this ok or not??? Are there any chances.. the count was 3 million only.. in that too they were not alive.. dunno what they have done.. one full day and almost next day half the time lower abdomen was aching a lot!!!

Please let me know..

You shouldn' t have had any pain with the IUI.You can have some discomfort during the procedure from the speculum used to hold the cervix open but nothing afterwards and not in the abdomen at all.Also,sounds like the doctor just wanted your money because she insisted that you proceed with IUI even though the chances are zero.I would try to find a different doctor with a better reputation.

as per my knowledge i know per ejaculation 20milion is considered normal but with very good swimmers even a low count of 5 to 8 million can give good results but still i googled for u and found out the following ....

World Health Organization guidelines say a normal sperm count consists of 20 million sperm per ejaculate, with 50 percent motility and 60 percent normal morphology (form). The amount of semen in the ejaculation matters, too. If the concentration is less than 20 million sperm per milliliter of ejaculate, it may impair fertility. Still, if the sperm show adequate forward motility -- the ability to swim -- concentrations as low as 5 to 10 million can produce a pregnancy.
It' s interesting to note that only 25 years ago, counts of 100 million sperm per ejaculate were the norm. With time, the effects of our toxic environment and/or lifestyle seem to be gradually degrading male sperm counts
i still now fail to understand how can a doc insist u to put in dead sperm and i also fail to understan that u being a modern girl dont know that deap sperms cannot merge with an egg...r u visiting a quack???? and draining ur money in the bin???
please visit a good fertility expert who can help u out

Thanks for the detailed answers.. Yes, I was very much aware that DEAD sperms will NOT result in any kind of pregnancy what so ever!!! But believe me for two cycles I have been visiting this doc and she is supposedly very veyr reputed and she insisted that I get it done... I was left with NO option at all!!! I pleaded her are there chances ??? is that why you are doing??? what is the probability??? She told me ZERO percent!!! Then I asked her why are u insisting that I undergo this??? She was not ready to answer.. she said lets try lets try, but there is no chance!!! I think I made a mistake!!! Just liek you said draining my money into the bin????

You talke dabout someone in Ashoka pillar eh??? Can you gimme the details???
