hi all,
i need some suggestions regarding my baby.he is 15months old.
eversince birth, he is allergic to salts.we did the required test and all were positive.
i stopped eating salt and he was fine.

after starting solids same thing happened.
we did the homeopathy medicine when he was 3months old but he still vomits. we changed the docs as we thought that may be doc is not capable enough. but nothing is helping.
we were told by homeopath that it is a very long term result. but it has been 12-13months, still no signs of recovery.

i am so tired. if we give him any food that does not contain salt, he doesn' t like it and he will not eat at all. i am in such a fix and it is very frustrating.
i tried stopping salt and replacing with fasting salt(that we eat in salt i don' t know its english term) but he still vomits.

he has been a very healthy kid but to see him vomiting all the time after every meals is very frustrating.
please help.

Very sorry to hear the problem, hope you will get over this with the age.

There is a product called SENDRIYA LAVANA, which is used in ayurveda and availble in all Indian grocey stores, why don' t you try if you have not tried already.

the site name is netwellness where u can ask experts in america about your child' s problem, but now that u have already done all the test and they are positive i don' t think they will be helpful, but u can ask them how u can deal with this problem, give them all the details of the tests done and results, they answer satisfactorily, i asked about myself and my daughter and they responded nicely. hope it will work.

he is 75% of his weight.

my ped considers it good.i think its because of fruits as he eats them without any worry.

dee, we were also not convinced that he is allergic to salt. so his ped got him tested for reflux, gerd but they all came negative.we did barium and all sorts of tests.
my friends told us to visit a child nutritionist so we did that. she got the tests for salt/saline and some other tests done.all tests with saline came positive. the rest came negative.

he vomits all food that i give with salt. i give first couple bites with salts and then i will give him unsalted food. that is the only way to feed him.

after a couple bites of unsalted food, it is tiring to feed him that food.
its frutrating and i am losing my patience now.

deepa you can name the site instead of the link. i saw a couple sites named like that on this site.
please anyone help me with this. i am so tired to run after him for every bite. after that i have to clean up too.

Hello keshavi,

I can only imagine how painful it must be for you to watch your baby throw up after every meal. Many hugs to you and your baby.

Salt allergy is something I am hearing for the first time. Have you taken a second opinion with a good pediatrician?

Does he vomit the entire meal or just a little? Is his weight gain good? Is he fussy/irritable during meals and seems relieved after throwing up?

Sorry asking you so many questions but I am wondering what could be the problem. If he has reflux then he should be on meds for the same.

Please google infant reflux disease and you will get some good sites. Take care and hope he gets better soon.

sorry to hear your problem, it is really bit sad, but don' t be frustrated, everything will be fine, i think u should go to some good pediatrician and check what he has to say about the salt problem, salt is important for the diet, there is one site but this board is not allowing me to send u the name of the site.
