hi,
no doubt oats are good.but offer it very moderately.
you can switch to cows milk only after he is 1 year old.before that dont.
give him ghee but remember not too much.better offer him good quantity in the morning and afternoon times so that he can you use that energy by night.
well igive my 10 months son exactly 10gms of amul butter.he has 21 gms of fat by way of formula...totally he has 31 gms of fat in a day.
ghee i havent started yet...the reason butter has more fat than ghee.
i will start ghee after my baby is 1yr.
regarding roti..its advisable you start after 1 year as wheat has gluten which gives allergies...after he is one start giving him whole wheat atta from itc aashirvad.

hi,
moong dal is good.
at 12 months start toor dal.
13 months RAJMA very important
14 moths soya ngranules
regarding grains
13 momths wheat+ wheat germ(very very healthy)
17 onths give corn
only after 2 years give him oats
please note until your baby turns 2 dont over feed him with dals, fruits and oats which contain high fibre which are very bulky for his stomach and it decresaes the apetite of the baby.
instead focus on giving him CALORIE DENSE FOODS like fat products like
butter
cheese
tofu
yoghurt
ghee
avocado
ice cream
milk
which all contain fats
fats are very important for the gorwth of your babys brain.if you restrict fats it is found that there are problems in the mind development
but remember dont go over board also.instead give him 30 gms of fat till he turns 2.from then cut it to 15gms till 3 years.
also try cooking yoiur baby vegetables in OLIVE OIL which has healthy fats in it, wgich develops brain.
bye
neelima

i don´ t know where you got this all information from but i got this from my doctr :
1. always cook your baby food in groundnut or pure vegetable oil. he needs fat. olive oil is good after 2years only.
2.soy and soy products can be started at the age of 10months and above.
3. corn can be given from the solid introduction.
4. oats i started for my baby from 8th months and my doc itself recommended it.
5.my doc is russian and i live in US. and surprisingly he asked us to give clarified butter(ghee) which has good qualities instead of butter !

icecream is a big No according to my doc before 2 years as it spoils baby gums and teeth.
