thanks. i have one more question.
my bil' s son was underweight so he was asked by my ped to give pediasure. after 6months, my bil son started putting on weight but after 2months(that is after 8months of taking pediasure) dr adviced to stop the pediasure totally and switch him to normal whole milk. he was at that time 3years old. so i am worried to offer it.

what if my baby becomes overweight.
now there is other problem going on with my bil son.my bil son doesn' t take normal milk at all.he has to buy flavoured milk for his son.he doing this after he stopped pediasure. he said pediasure had vanilla flavour so now his son does not drink normal milk.
what do you have to say about this.
any opinions on this is most welcome.if anyone knows of more information about pediasure please share.
Thanks.

Subject:  neyat regarding pedisure

I am in US and here we get pedisure in liquid bottles with 4 to 5 flavours including vanilla .i give my son normal cows milk in morning hours (luckwarm)..and strawberry flavour pedisure in evening 5o clock thinking the same thing in mind that he should not develop any kind of habit..as he feels that he is drinking some kind of strawberry shake..that i think is not similar to normal cows milk..
and also we have decedid that as we will feel he is gaining weight without or with drs advice we will leave the drink..so thats all...thanks

Subject:  Hi

when i weaned my son, he was running away from milk.he stopped drinking it and it affected his weight.
so my doctor asked to give nesquik in milk. i was very much inclined in giving pediasure to my son after looking at my friends daughter who was previously underweight.she too was not interested in taking milk just like my son.
my doctor said my son doesn' t need pediasure.he said it is for those kids who are not getting proper nutrition or are always sick.
so i dropped the idea.my son loves to drink nesquik milk. i am happy i didn' t have to spend extra money on it. my son was able to put on good weight once he started drinking nesquik milk.it worked magic.
his apetite has also increased. itz been 3months now.
i wanted to offer pediasure even though my doctor refused so i had google some forums and sites.i read in that pediasure has some extra nutrients that is present in energy drinks that sports people drink and on some sites it was written that offering energy drinks without asking your doctor is harmful.i also read some cases where kids were taken to emergency when they gave it without doctor consultation. so it scared me and i bought nesquik.
so all i would say is, ask your doctor even though it is safe to give after 1 year. if your doctor tells you to give it, den only give.
i just read previous post and purnima' s doctor asked her to give pediasure that is why she gave it. so ask your doctor before giving energy boost drink.
take care.just wanted to share my experience and opinion hope it helps.
