Health Issues:Trouble with 31/2 yr old son
2006-01-03
Name: Joyce Das

My son is 31/2 yrs old and i recently had a baby girl on 24th Nov 2005. My son feels neglected by me a lot nowdays as i have to feed my baby every 3 hrs and thus give him less time. He tells me not to feed her. During feeding her, he jumps and keeps kissing her. (he loves his sister.... i am only concerned about him having an emotional problem as he is a very emotional boy and my attention is now divided between the 2 kids) He has become very stubborn also and just doesn't listen to us at home. He has just started going to pre-school and he remains very quite and sad in the school and when he reaches home he is happy and active again. Please guide me as i feel very helpless.

Its not your son who is to be counseled its you. Dont pre judge him. If he is in trouble understand him. Make him tell or do what you want to do.

I think it is very important to preapre the big siblings and them involved inall teh chores. Like diaper change (they bring the diaper); or in powdering the baby etc...Also during their feeding time(the elders ones) we should be very attentive.Like hold the child in our lap when he/she drinks milk. So taht they constantly feel values. There are good story books avilable \";I am the big broeth/sister\"; Write with a marker pen on his t-shirt I am the big brother

Try it out and wish you the best!

RE:Consticipation for 4 years old
This is an old thread but one thing no-one said was that exercise is important for gut motility. All the green veg and pear juice will be limited in their effectiveness if the kid isn't very physically active (just walking more and driving less helps!)
Also, my usual comment - use a child-size glycerin suppository if he's gone for two or more days without doing a do.... - Suzanne [View Message]
