Hi,
I am Preethi, mother of a 9 month old cute baby boy and living in the US.I just wanted to express my gratitude for the caring and concerned group of listeners who appear to comprise the contibutors to this message board.
It is so nice to know that so many people in this crazy world still have solid values prizing family above all else.My own two cents on the issue of the meaning of feminism in our generation is that we have come the full circle,have got it all and we are now trying to sort out what we want.I mean, i am so happy we are able to get educations and compete equally in all professions with men.But i think at the end of the day, there is no one else who can be a mother to our children, or create a family like us.So we have to find our balance, and realize we are just not capable of doing many things.I am finding this out the hard way as I am a physician and having given the best years of my life to medicine, i have realized that my child is more important than anything i will ever achieve in medicine, and i am trying to cut down to part time practice.
