I was undergoing ivf on 25/6/07. five eggs were retrieved and everything was going well but my husband was so stressed that he was not able to give the sample for ivf.We have made all the payments in advance to the doctor.The doctor was not having enough common sense to freeze the semen sample in advance as he thought its not difficult thing to get it on the same day(As none of his patients ever faced difficulty in supplying the sample). Hence my ivf resulted in failure without giving it a try.What will u call it my bad luck or my doctor' s carelessness?

Forget about failed cycle. Find out good doctor and hospital where they freeze sperm before ivf cycle. May god bless you in next cycle. For some guys it is very difficult to produce sample in hospital itself because of stress. In home or hotel may work well but need to carry it to hospital within 30 mins I think. Discuss with doc.

I know it must be v.frustating to have lost one good cycle, but put it behind you and relax (both of you). Although I have never faced this problem but have undergone 2 failed IVF and 4 cryo cycle and have finally conceived now at my 3rd IVF attempt. Keep a strong belief that things will work out and they will.

Take a break or go out and relax and then try for your next cycle. Some clinic do not freeze the semen but some do as a precaution. My current clinic does it, the doc said that they had faced patients who were ill or too stressed out on that particular day so as a precaution they freeze the sample a week before the IVF for everyone.(Although my previous hospital did not do any such thing).
