pediasure - Eating Problems Discussion Forum - Parents of Preschoolers Message Boards

my baby is 14 months old. The doc has asked me to give Ceeproz (health drink mixed with milk) or pediasure to the baby. She is still drinking in bottle. she is not willing to take any health drink other than milk. Is anyone giving pediasure. is it time to wean bottle? she hates to take milk thru tumbler. i live in india. niki replied. HI
My son is indeed a fussy eater....and very very skinny..after having a good nutritious diet...but really dont know what is wrong with him..according to dr he is average and a bit underweight ..so want to give him pedisure..and THANKS a lot for all the information u gave ...i will first try the samples...and yaaa..u said it really makes wonders ..what exactly u mean to say ..does it really increase body..and giving him pedisure once a day means he should finish one bottle each day..

The same case happened to me when my son refused to wean the bottle and take pediasure as his doc recomended too.I tried my level best and asusually failed as babies know pretty well how to achive what they want.I then followed this technique.We were on a very big tri for one whole week.I was very strong not to take his feeding bottle and regular milk other than pediasure.i tried giving him for the first 3 days from a sippy cup which has straw.He dint touch it and stayed empty stomached the 3 days believe me tears rolled in my eyes but i did not give up.For the fifth day,he atleast tried to put the bottle in his mouth and slowly i achieved it.If you dont have plans to have a trip,just take care that you hide the feeding bottles from his site and yours too as you may be tempted yourelf seeing the tears.
And comming to pediasure,it worked wonders for my son.Show the child the bottle and i said that its bears milk and bear has sent you as it love you.Hes 3 years now and takes pediasure from a glass and asks for bears milk when he wants it.
Dont giveup hopes on this matter and yes its definitely time to come out of the bottle.Jut be very very strong,firm and indeed very patient and see the wonders working.

DEPENDS ON MANY FACTORS...

Hi Niki,
Happy that the info helped you.Well,it does increase the body weight to normal but dont expect the child to grow fat and chubby.Being fat depends on the heriditary factors too.Both of us are thin and the docs in US and INDIA told the same thing.The child has come to normal weight and dont be in a false assumpsion that being chubby and muscular is being healthy.
The next thing i meant is having once as a meal ,i meant try giving him little by little.There is no rule that he should finish it off the whole bottle.Let him be comfortable with the taste and the digestion.Its absolutely perfect for him even to have a sip of it first few days.He himself likes the taste and asks you for more.Be sure not to encourage him to drink bottles and bottles the same day as they get used to it and stop eating other foods.
REMEMBER!!it increases body weight atleast in my sons case NOT BODY.
Any other questions or suggestions ,i would always be happy to help you.And last but not the least,please dont worry about the eating habits.If you have any children close to him near by,try taking to their house and feed him along with them.He shows intrest in eating all kinds of food by seeing the other kids eat.Its a tried thing with me.

Pediasure is basically a whole food fro a fussy and a picky eater.its a substitue for a meal .I f your baby or child dosent eat a whole healthy meal its good to give pediasure once a day.Be carefull not to give a child under one year.
And please dont give it just to increase a childs weight but i am sure it makes wonders.Yes it is not avilable in powder form in US.
You can first try their samples which are available if you call them in their toll free number.All you have to say is that you are not sure of what flavour your child likes and they send u samples of all.But mostly,vanilla and strawberry are good.Request for the discount cupouns and the send u 2 dollor off cupouns a set of 2 each month.They are a bit less pricy in target and wallmart when compared to the other stores.

hi purnima regarding pedisure

my son is 30months old ..i live in us..and as in india pedisure comes in power form..and in us i have seen it in liquid form as i have recently come to US ..my question is my son is underweight and my friend in india uses pedisure in powder form with milk.his son after that has really gained weight.so i thought to use it here in US..do we only get pedisure in liquid form and what for r u giving ur child this drink...is he was underweight or not to the mark weight...pl tell me how should i increses his weight throught pediasure..
r u living in US..I AM ALSO USING GERBER FOODS to boost his weight but dont know how much it works..
