for ragi..in the beginning u gv 1 small vati say 2 oz...in that u put 1/4th tsp ragi..mix it n cook it....

then gradually inc quantity ...n make it thick accordingly....

u can add badam powder too...also i wud like to tell u about the type of almonds u gv...u get this special almonds...called mamri or memory badam...which looks flat n taste bitter...its very costly..1,500 per kg...take 100gms powder it ..store it in clean dry containers...it will last for a month.....its very good for brains....
i dont know about cashewnut ..i hv never given...but try to gv this badam early morning....
nachni powder u get in any grocery shop....u go n tell him u want nachni satva...or nachni powder...it come with sugar n without sugar ...i gv without sugar....

after some time u can gv water...to avoid constipation...say about 15 ..20 mins...

recpe for khimti:
u take equal quatity of rice n moong dal...wash it properly...let it dry completely....when its completely dry...dry roast it on tava...till it changes it colour to pinkk dont burn it ..or ur daguhter wont eat...
then grind it to powder in mixie..store it in clean dry container...daily take 1 tsp full of this powder cook it in water n gv her..u can add salt n ghee to it...this is called khimti..

again i wud like to remind u about khimti...dry properly after washing rice ...n dal....or else it will get spoilt...u cant store it for a long ...if possible u can sun dry also....

hope this will help u

You can start either with khichdi, you can start with that also..my doctor said you can start with also some dal chawal which is blended really really good..try the moon dal(yellow) NOT TOOR...which will constipate the baby..or you can overcook rice add some ghee and start her on that...:) try it and see..but if trying new foods try it to give to her for three days to see any changes in her..any allergey...anything..then try new foods..good luck..:) start by giving her once a day...start with dinner time..then her tummy will be full and she will sleep longer..:)

whatever u r going to start please start gining your child in the breakfast or afternoon as i have read here and my dc has also suggested as u can see the reaction of the food..dont try anythin new at night and u can start giving dal ka pani(moong dal)with little ghee..i had started it for my son when he was 5 months old..just start with 2-3 spoon and increase the quantity later.
