Great news! My hubby is also ready to adopt and has asked me to go ahead and do / start with what needs to be done.
It was such a relief that he was pleasantly agreeable to it.

Earlier, he was not too keen on adopting from an institution, due to pre-conceived notions, I feel.

Anyways, Hema, I have some questions, which I hope you can help me out with. Or anyone else, if they know, please reply.

1 - I came across your reference to Bal Asha in some previous posts of yours. Do you know if they would consider giving a child for adoption in Chennai city?

2 - Keeping in mind the rule, that if a couple has a child already, they can only adopt another one of the opposite sex..

I have a step-daughter (from my hubby's first marriage). She is staying with my in-laws, but we all have regular interaction of course.

My q: Would I be able to adopt a girl child? (I am very keen on adopting a girl first).

Hema replied. 1. I think you have to have residential proof for wherever you stay. There are some good agency in Chennai, I'm sure.
2. I think you'll have to adopt a boy.But I'm not sure.
Agency to agency rules vary.And judge to judge. So all the best.
