Trying since long:what to do when eggs are not getting mature?
2007-05-15
Name: Jahnvi

I went through three IUI and one IVF process. My doctor was not able to tell us the reason for infertility in the beginning. After IVF, doctor said my eggs are not getting mature. They retrieved 17 eggs but only two were mature. They put two embryos but it was unsuccessful. Did any one have the same experience? What is the solution if your eggs are not maturing up? I am in confusing state. I am also in guilty state because my husband loves children and I can’t give him one. Any home remedy or any other medicine that can help me.

Thanks
Jahnvi

Hello Mrs.Jahnvi,
As mrs.Anik says, try with donor egg which has got greater possibility of getting possitive result. It depends on how old you are. If you are above 35,it is advisible to go for donor eggs.
Good luck.

Timing is everything in this process – an egg retrieval that is performed too soon may result in immature eggs that can’t be fertilized.

Moreover, you grew a lot of eggs with majority immature ,may be egg retrieval was done early to avoid hyperstimulation syndrome which is common in POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN DISEASE.

However, there are some new developments like maturing such eggs outside, invitro and then performing ICSI.Its called Invitromaturation of eggs.

Scientific reasons apart, MOST IMPORTANT is to be positive and please dont blame yourself. We are all in the same boat .Tough times should make us tougher not weaker . So cheer up, keep trying, TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR about all options.

Hope it helped.

Hello Jahnvi
I understand the pain you are going thru since I am also more or less sailing in the same boat.
1. First of all, please don' t feel guilty. In a couple, anybody having a problem, the outcome is same. These problems are occurring naturally for some and it' s not your fault.
2. If you are young enough, you can still wait and see. If luck permits, one egg is enough for conceiving naturally. Change the doctors or try various alternatives. Definitely you will be successful in conceiving and having a sweet baby.
3. Last alternative \" Something is better than nothing\" - Try with a donor' s egg, if your husband agrees. You can conceive and give birth to a child and the child is going to be all yours. There are lot of possibilities and keep trying. Good luck.
