Feeding:Please advise - Diet okay for 1 year old

Hello all,
I want to know if what we are feeding to 1 year old is fine, and get some opinion on change. Looks like am giving more milk than solids, please review. We are continuing on the next step formula for toddlers and am planning to give that for 6 more months to make sure they get all the benefits from formula. Have not tried whole milk yet.
Morning - 7:30 am mixed grain cereal + 4oz formula
9:30 AM - 2 oz fruit juice (gerber)
11 AM - 8 oz formula
1:30 PM - gerber fruit - 3 oz or the med. size bottle
4 PM - 8 oz formula
7 PM - rice+dal+vegs+ghee - comes to 1 cup when mixed with little water
10 PM - 4-6 oz formula.

This is the schedule we have been following from last 2 months or so and during the 1 year visit the dr. said to give all that we eat but did not comments when I said we are trying to stick to 24 oz formula per day. But the posts here in this site seem to limit milk to 15 oz or so per day and more on solids. Please suggest where I can change in this schedule above. Should I mix the gerber fruit in cereal and feed them a heavy lunch? Should I cut down every formula feed to only 5 oz? Where can I fit in yoghurt or egg yolk or finger foods? Please advise for a healthy eating habits. Thanks much.

hi ! my doc also says no more than 15 oz of milk & that one should switch to cow' s milk if suitable and if the baby is eating. my doctor says no baby food so i started home made slowly. i personally feel u should give more of fresh fruit. a banana is a really good option. calories and home made - no speacial cooking is the mantra for a baby above one year. becoz after one year they become really clever and now is a good time for transition. all the best !

Hi Asha,
The diet looks good, especially with the formula. I would also suggest to add more solids. You can give yogurt mixed with rice or plain yogurt is also fine. My little one is 11 months old, I give him yogurt rice, dhall rice mixed with half egg york. How much does your little one weigh? If so, try mixing your cereal with soft cheese.
Hope this helps!!!

Ash
