dpends on what culture you want to follow.
in US there is no concept of clarified butter/ghee so they addin butter to their diet from 7months onwards,,or make their food with unsalted butter.
often the reason that drs in US advice cows milk after 1 year is because of allergy issues,,but if you see, you can start giving curd, cheese from 9months onwards,,,which means that basically you are starting cows milk from 9months onwards, practically speaking..they contain milk only and cheese contains almost double the amts of milk than a regular serving of milk....
the reason behind this is often the byproducts of milk contain easy digestible carbs just are right for babies from 8-9months onwards..
however, if you are following indian culture, we start offering ghee from the day you start to offer khichadi or rice and in some cultures, they start giving raagi made in ghee !!
just a lil dash is more than enough serving per day for baby...
i personally recommend to start giving from 8months onwards,,as i saw that babies from 8 months onwards are active enough to make use of all the fats and proteins they eat...and thats just the right time that they are expected to start eating fats, proteins,,and digest them well...also this is the right time, that when these fat foods are started, babies dont get obese or overweight unnecessarily and at the same time they are healthy enough by 8months to digest them well.
check for ne allergies or rashes with ghee as well,,,the possibility that babies get allergies from ghee and curd or cheese is pretty less...so its not a big worry..keep a decent gap of 3hours on each serving of milk products like ghee, curd, cheese to avoid skin pigmentations probs or rashes or eczema...
so you decide when you want to give..
