Every mother-father goes through this phase. But the answer lies in keeping your cool. First, do not pamper or bribe your child for something in return, He must not think that you fear his tantrums and therfore bribe him to be a good boy. Just enforce some discipline without any bribery. If he does not listen, do not shout/scold too much. Just give the message that his actions are not being liked.

I think if your are getting emotional, you are playing in to the hands of the child. So, enforce discipline by remining stable.

These growing up years of the child are very important. I think you should concentrate on your abilities to govern his life. You should remain calm.

i think that kids today are not getting a vent to a normal emotion like anger and aggression. They need a vent out in a lot of physical activities and also in an emotional manner like maybe through a hobby like painting.
