My son is now one year. He is on Isomil and drinks it 4 times a day. He had eczema so doc stopped similac and started isomil. Recently the doc told us to give him whole milk(vitamin D) instead of Isomil. We tried it once giving 6oz and he vomitted abt 5 times that day. What he threw was like curdled milk(paneer). Also he had loose motions which were foul smelling. So he could not digest the whole milk. Now the doc asked us to keep him on Isomil for another 3 months. But we are unsure if Isomil gives all neccessary nutrients to a one yr old? He also has solids like dal-khicadi, Gerber food and cereal. ANy suggestions on how to start regular milk? nicemom replied. hi LN,
my daughter was on isomil till 1yr old and she also has eczema. tho' when i switched her to whole milk she didn't throw-up but had aggrevated eczema, so the pediatrician suggested to give her soy-milk. after keeping the child on soy for so many months ...why did your doc ask to start regular milk? i wonder.
till recently we visited the allergist and immuno. and found out that she ahd a milk allergy. try asking your kid's doc to refer you to some allergist and get your child tested .
many times kids with eczema have food allergies. my daughter is allergic to a couple of foods. she throws up when she eats anything made of egg or regular egg forms.

if in case you want to still stick to regualr cow's milk try the 2% milk as suggested by VB.

but i still feel you must continue with a soy milk, if not formula isomil. you get soy-milk in 3 flavors.

let me know what happens VB replied. My son too had the same problem. So I started him with 2% milk with added water. Then went on to 2% milk and whole milk. Now he is finally drinking whole milk without any problem
