My baby is 3 months old.he is on Bf as well as on formula.I BF him throughtout the day and formula during night as my milk supply gets down in the evening.for the last few days he started to refuse to take milk from my breasts even during the day.he takes milk from the breasts only when he is sleepy but he refuses it when he is awake.then i have to give him bottle.i think he get used to bottles b' caz when we r on our trip usually i give him bottles as we can' t BF in cars or in public.I want to BF him as much as i can.I want to BF him upto 1 year.Plz suggest wat should i do?I am very disappointed with this sonia replied. hi ! infants do get confused with breast and bottle. generally, bottle starts around 4 mnths by then bfeeding is totally established but there' s no hard and fast rule. but u know u can pump and give him your milk that is one option if he prefers the bottle but the milk can be your' s and then the second option is to bfeed whenever u can - see u can bfeed in public too - in a car, family rooms depending where u r discretely ! i did that comfortably wearing loose clothes and by using a cover that comes especially for public bfeeding. u can check those on the web u know. bfeeding upto 1 yr is a very good idea and the more u nurse the more milk will come but if u go on bottle then that is what he' ll like. but then the milk can be your' s. u can also freeze your milk upto 6 mnths. i did that ! all the best !
