hi all,
we r married for 4 yrs.we r trying from past 6 months without success.now i' m really getting worried if i have any fertility problems.i' ve never been to gyn in my entire life.since i' ve been failing wid my TTC attempts,i' m planning to visit ob-gyn this week.this will be my 1st visit to ob-gyn.can anyone plz tell me what to expect in my 1st appointment.to they conduct any tests to check my fertility?i' m getting depressed day by day.from the time i' ve started TTC, i' ve forgotten the meaning of happiness.not even a day pasees by where i dont cry.
i have regular periods.i dont know what is preventing us from getting pregnant.can anyone plz help me how to go abt this.shld i ask for my ob-gyn to conduct any perticular tests?
also i had an other question.if the tubes r blocked is it not possible to conceive at all? are there any treatments to clear up the tubes?how will we know that our tubes are clear? shld i ask her to perform any tests to check if my tubes are fine?plz help me.i have no one to talk to or ask for any advice.tell me how shld i go abt this?

I' am in the same boat, we r on TTC from last 7 month,married for more than 4 years,one abortion.I have gone through ultra sound pelvic test,progesterone test.Everything is positive,still couldn' t conceive.Keep me posted about your doctors visits.We can share our knowledge. satish replied. Calmness is very important as the entire process of TTC can be long and stress can only prolong it.

Usual tests in the first week done:
1. Blood test for horomone levels, 2. Ultrasonography for general conditions of uterus and ovary, and,3. Sperm analysis of husband' s semen.

My wife also has tubal problems. Hysterosalpingography (they inject a dye without surgery, into uterus and scan from outside, by x-ray) or a laparoscopy are some of the procedures for detecting tubal blocks. If there is tubal block, IVF is the usual alternative suggested.

Calm down dear.no need to get so stressed.u' ve just been trying for 6 months.\" clinically\" ,a couple who has been trying for a year and fails to concieve,falls into the category of \" infertility\" .I' m not suggesting that you dont see a doctor though.are you in india?which state?maybe i can suggest a good infertility specialist as i' ve done a lot of research on the net as i' ve been married for 10 years and still not concieved.I' ve gone through numerous teats and procedures.everyone here is in the same condition as you,only worse.
When you see the doctor,she' ll ask you to get your hormonal tests done,LH,FSH,PROLACTIN,etc etc etc.She will also examine you physically and will ask you if your periods are regular or not and how painful are they ,if at all they are painful.she might ask you to take folic acid daily.
