low quality sperm

The advantage with IUI is low sperm quality is that only good sperm can be selected from the bad sperm. But if there are too many bad sperm, then the chances are less. Still, since the IUI doesn' t involve much hormonal treatment and cost, one could try several times. ICSI is the next best option to be conceived with husband' s sperm or spermatids. But the success rate of IVF/ICSI is only 30%.

hi varsha! Same here.

my husband too has normal count but low motility(30%). I have done 5 IUIs without any result.His Ultrasound shows that he has no vericocele.I ma quite depressed.we have been married since 4 years.Is it ur first iui? feel free to discuss anything with me.

hi varsha

hi i' ve been married 10 years and facing the same problem as u.......low count and motility.........but the reason is VARICOCELE.........has your husband got himself tested for it?if he does have it,he would have to be on medication for 3 months or so ,if the motility and count still doesnt improve,varicocele surgery maybe considered.MEANWHILE do keep getting IUI' s done,a simple artificial insemination procedure,if IUI' s fail(atleast 4 cycles) then IVF would be the next step.....feel free to ask any questions......take care.
