Hi Rashmi,
I am not a Marwari but had learnt this from a Marwari friend hope u will like it.

Moong Dal Halwa

Greengram Dal(moong)250 gms
Ghee 1 cup
Sugar1 cup
Milk 1 litre
Mawa/milk powder50 gms
Saffron essence1/4 tsp
Saffron colour 1/4 tsp
Green cardamoms4-5
Cinnamon1/2\"; piece
Cloves3-4

Soak the moong dal overnight. Grind coarsely in the mixer.
Heat ghee in a deep pan and lightly fry green almonds, cardamoms, cloves and cinnamon. Reduce heat and add the ground dal. Fry on medium heat to a golden brown color. Reduce heat and add milk. When milk thickens, add sugar and saffron.
Fry till ghee separates. Add mawa or in absence of mawa u can use milk powder, mix well and fry for 5 minutes more stirring continuously. Remove from heat. Serve with chopped nuts.
