Hi All:
I have a 5-1/2 month old boy. He starts to cry & goes on for about 15-20 mins. upon hearing the harsh sound made by the mixie/blender. Basically he seems very upset & makes a sad face as well. He does get scared on some other sounds like that of cooker, but does not cry.
Is it possible that his ears hurt because of the harsh sound or is it just that he does not like that pirticular sound?? In general will loud and harsh sounds affect baby´ s ears/hearing?

nandini replied. i had the same problem wid my daughter.but now she dosnt cry......her face gets lil bit confused ...the trick was...whenever i use mixie...i take her front of me not too near but near enough so she can see.then i start mixie wid slow speed..then i make it on off or hi low..so its sounds more like...bike or some kind of rhythem n voila she started to like dat sound..first my hubby used stay wid her but now......she sits in swing n enjoys mixie sound(noise:)).i even dance a lil while using mixie n ohhhhh she likes it like nething.
megha replied. well, my son used to cry on both the cooker and mixie noise. but gradually he overcame it. he ussed to get startled, then make a sad face as u said and then start crying. but i guess finally he got used to it coz cooker and mixie are used almost everyday :) now he is one and doesn' t cry like he used to :) gauri replied. he must be scared of noise my daughter is scared of rickshaw noise ...she really starts crying ....u cant do anything....
