Eating Problems:3 months eating habits at night
2006-10-24
Name: Sangeetha Kamatkar

MY son is 3 months. He eats well during the day like 41/2ounces at each feeding, but during night he does not get up for milk. earlier he used to wake up crying coz of hunger.
Due to this sometimes he misses his feeding during late night.
Any suggestions on how are the eating habits of 3 months old during the night and if it ok to skip a feeding.

Please advise

Subject:  feed the baby till 4m

It is suggested to feed the baby at night till 4m plus-minus, and let the baby sleep overnight as per babys demand.

infact after 4m, try that baby sleeps overnight if he doesnt.

it is normal for a baby to sleep whole night at 3m but i wd suggest u feed the baby atleast once sometime middle of night.

if u r giving bottle, hen talk to ur doc about preventing mouth infection if u plan to bottle feed baby before-or-between night sleeps.

BTW such Qs can be better addressed under parents of babies section.

hope this helps.
