Trying since long:Inquiry on Clomid

Hello Everyone,
I am 30 and have been trying for 2 years. Went to the doctor in Jan who told me to chart BBT. He wants to put me on clomid in the next cycle to be taken on the 3rd day of the cycle for 5 days..... I would like to know if you need to go an ultrasound or any thing in any stage of my cycle to know if everything is going fine.....
Would greatly appreciate all the help.

Hi SM,
I am also taking 4th round of clomid and my doctor takes 2 or 3 US scan in every cycle from day 12 to day 18. Though it is quite expensive way to watch the ovulation but it is more reliable than Billing method.By doing US your doctor can see the follicle growth and assume the date of ovulation.Progesterone test after ovulation marks the clear picture in every cycle.

As Peace lily says that you shouldnot take more than 6 cycle of clomid is correct.

My best wishes to you.

when you are on clomid you may h ave to go for an ultrasound on the 13 day of your cycle that is to observe ur follicles,if they are ready to release and egg and also to observe if you are ovulating in general. I had it on the 3rd day and the 13th day. All the best.

Subject:  Regarding Clomid

Hi SM,

How many cycles of clomid have you taken? Clomid helps in ovulation but don' t take clomid for more than 6 cycles.
My gynaecologist put me on serophene(same as clomid) for 5 cycles, it didn' t work out -- Don' t be discouraged, I am just sharing my experience, that' s it. Then she referred me to a fertility specialist, who diagonised that i have pcos which was due to harmonal imbalance and which is why i was not ovulating. So taking clomid or serophene after pcos is treated is more effective.

So i would like to suggest you to CHECK YOUR HORMONES first since you have been trying for 2 years. Do as your doctor says right now. But don' t take clomid for more than 6 cycles - that is what doctors say.

Regarding the ultrasound, I cannot comment on that - i am not sure. But all i can say is you must have your hormones tested.

Wishing you the best,
PL

Hi Everyone,

We have been married for the last 12 years. We are trying for a baby but unfortunately every time it's disappointing. I had 3 abortion, 2 Ectopic pregnancy, 1 IUI failure and 2 IVF failures. I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
