Name: Naina Hi everyone,
Since parents and would be parents read this section, I am writing my query here. I would like to know if anyone is in this situation or was in this situation. If a husband and wife r both of two different religions (i.e, if they had inter religious marriage), then what religion should the baby be? I think that being a mother, the baby should follow the mothers religion as she is the one who is most important for the baby. And she will be the one teaching the baby about religion and all other matters. Please give me ur opinion in this regard, specially if anyone has have had a inter-religious marriage.

I agree with nicemom. Even myself and my husband are from different religion. But we both are not so particular about it and follow both so that our baby can get part of both.

child choice after certain age

hi naina,
in my opinion, you must expose the child to both the religion equally at first. after the child has reached an age where he/she can deciede or feel a certain belief, the child must deciede which religion he/she must follow. every individual has a certain picture of the almighty. the child will on his own be inclined to one religion more than the other.
if the parents keep pulling the child to their religion, there will be unneccessary disputes betw. parents and also th poor child will be confused.
legally, it is the father's religion the child follow's.
