My 11 yr old son is fond of dogs and so is my husband ,without my consent they bought an expensive puppy.Iam not comfortable with dogs, when he licks or bites.A tigling sensation and fear comes on to me what should I do,since the pup is small I cannot leave him and go anywhere and I dont have a proper help.A part timer comes once a day to do the chores rest of the day that is till 2pm. Iam alone with the dog ,Iam vey upset what should I do.I have been imposed with more responsibility. If I tell them to give him back I feel the guilt of making my son unhappy as he is alone no company except in school,If I keep him Iam uneasy as he runs here and there urinating etc.and tries to nibble my toes which makes me uneasy please help.............

Rita replied. Training your dog is easy. Just give him time to learn. Go online and get free tips on dog training. You' ll find plenty of tips on the internet.
By the way, it is lovely to have a dog in the house. A dog always completes a family and can have civilising effects on children. Dogs are very loyal, loving creature.
My parents have one, a female pomeranian, very small and facially fox-like. She is a very beautiful dog with beige hair all over except for white hair on her nose and chest. She is a grandmother now, with humanlike emotions, personality and a mind of her own. She' s so small that she is often mistaken for a puppy. For that, and as a pomeranian, she attracts much attention in town.
What I think of her? She is very, very quiet (so, no fun or games with her), also ladylike and grandmotherly. Always a very fussy eater and a snob, she demands the BEST quality foods or otherwise, she won' t eat and would rather starve than any other kind of foods. She likes her freshly barbequed chicken everyday and indeed has an expensive appetite.
She sometimes act as if she is my grandmother. Sometimes, worried and concerned about my family. Othertimes, she is bossy mostly towards me. She tells me when it is time for her bed, when she wants her walks, and so on. Ah well, she is a dog with needs.
Dd replied. Hi Ruchi,
I love dogs very much even though i have not owned one ever.
But I do have experince with them. long time ago, my neighbour had a dog & we were very fond of eachother. Before few years when I leaves overseas my sil' s childrens had a dog. my sil was same like you with the dog. she hated to handle them. So i will give you tips of what we did at that time.
She had made rules, that the son or the daughter has to take the dog out for a walk every day. then they ahve to do all the stuff related to him, feeding cleaning etc.
Yopu have to love the dog & train him. whenever he urinates in the house scold him (but not in very harsh tone) the way you will scold your child when he misbehaves, & then take him out. and praise him when he does some good deed. If you train him, he will always tell you with signals & stand at the front door when he need to urinate or toilet. They understands if you love them or hate them so don' t remove the hatred from your heart.
I stayed with my sil for a month before coming back & I will tell u some of the indcidents. Every day we used to eake her for walk. so whenever he wanted to go out he will take me to the cupboard where he kept his leash. so if I am busy cooking, I will tell him sweetely that I will take him out after i finish the work. so he will sit quietly at one place and as soon as i finish my work & wash my hands, he will come & stand next to me.
so what i am telling you is even though they can not speak they understand what we r saying after some practice. so daily try to train him the way you do your chcild to behave in certain ways.
All the best!
