My son is 2 and a half months old. He is having severe cough and cold since past 5 days.We have tried all home remedies,as in - ajwain ka sek,but it doesnt seem to work.Bcoz of this his nose remains blocked and he in unable to feed properly.Also the color of his stool is green since almost a month now which concerns us a lot. To give him antibiotics is sumthing which we would like to avoid. Pls help.

U can try saline drops \";Nasoclear\"; for blocked nose of ur son. Also give him 2-3 drops of honey with Haldi. It will works. My son just recovered from cold & cough. But rememeber one thing if cough is severe don't wait for home remedies. go to the Doctor.

Have you tried saffron. It is best for cold. U can crush pinch of saffron and mix with very little water, should not be very liquidy. And apply the same on baby's forehead when he is sleeping. Will help for sure. I always did this for my daughter when she was a baby. Also You can try saline drops for blocked nose. For cough u cannot give anything to baby, but if u are giving him water, then u can boil 3-4 tulsi leaves in the water and strain it and give baby after it cools. Sumiti Mehta replied. Having a cold can really be uncomfortable for baby, instead of trying home remedies which usually deteriorate things in such small babies should not be tried. Ask your Doctor about \";Nasoclear\"; drops , it is nothing but saline water. My doctor recommended this when my child was 40days and was suffering from cold and blocked nose. These drops were to be given each time i had to feed baby. These drops were really good and with in 3 days my baby was absolutely fine.

Having a cold can be quite a nuisance, but for a baby it is particularly uncomfortable. There is a traditional method to alleviate the baby's discomfort. If the baby is less than six months old, take 4-5 nagarvel paans and place them on a sieve. Place the sieve on a cooking pan over a fire. 1 paan should be placed in the centre of the sieve to allow it to get moderately hot. These warm paans are then placed on the baby's chest one after another. However, make sure that the paans are not so hot that they burn the baby's skin. This procedure should be continued for about five minutes by re-heating the cooled paans.
