Hi All,

Pls would someone tell me what Antisperm Antibodies is??? I m 26 years old and underwent IUI 2 times. This month i have my 3rd IUI scheduled. I have PCOS, so am on metformin since last 4 months. But my concern is that i havnt conceived in 2 cycles, so would i have any chances with further IUIs??? The observed range after my blood test for antisperm antibodies is seen Negative(18.1).

I have undergone a laproscopy too for drilling of the ovaries 6 months back. I will never want to go for an IVF. In my case will IUI help me concieve??

Niki,
antisperm antibodies will kill the sperm, agents who will get your egg fertilzed. Unfortunately if antibody attacks sperm before meeting healthy egg you will not get pregnant. though you dont want IVF is better option as your fertilization is outside vaginal environment. IUI may not offer as much benefits. I don't want to discorage but could not avoid truth.

Niki,
if you have titer enought ot call positive then IUI is not likely to help you get pregnant.
I am sorry but kind of felt you have a very strong attitude for IVF. I am sorry I can't be of help further on this matter.
I don't know treatment to reduce antibodies and remember antibodies are proteins prsent in blood, in particular in serum and would be there wherever you have blood.

Isn't there any treatment to solve this antibodies problem? If not, Will change in diet or exercise help me.

I will never go for IVF though, but would try for one more IUI this month if possible. Then i am travelling abroad and would try to reduce as much weight as possible as i am overweight. In IUI insemination is done directly in the uterus right? so how will anitbodies destroy the sperms?

Will my reducing weight help in any way??

My blood tests show Negative for antibodies but my doc says the range exceeding 15 is said to be positive. Is it true?
