All
Wishing u all a happy n properous new year 2007 .
As I am going for IVF next cycle , I need to know about the injection Lupride. My doctor has told me to take Lupride injection from 20-21st day of my period till my period .Now my question is wt is the purpose of this injection? has any one got any idea ? please let me know and also information about its cost . thanks in advance .

My wife was given Lupride (leuprolide) Injection 19th Feb 2009. She got her periods (before given injection) 9th Feb 2009. She was given injection for do the HSG test on 19 march 2009. Test was positive.
I want to know when will get next period dates. (Actually duration of the Lupride injection)

hi read ur msg on board can u please give me some more info about IVF.i hv just started my inj lupride myself from yesterday.since u hv already taken the treatment earlier please if possible give me some info.is the full cycle painful. it is costly for sure.but is it worth trying ? do let me know...

Hi Ria: This is what i found from the net...would be worth checking with the doctor.

\" Lupride is the brand name; the name of medicine is leuprolide which is actually meant for the treatment of advanced cancer of prostate in men. It is also sometimes used in endometriosis.

If the medicine is not given early on during the menstrual cycle, then the months cycle is not missed and the following period is missed. This may explain the status in your case.

Lupride should not be used on a long term basis due to increased risk of osteoporosis (thinning of bones).\"
