My son is 9 months old too. I had the same problem that he was waking frequently at night for feeding. For just 2 nights I gave him his formula milk (powder milk),(which he doesn't drink much) and he stopped waking from the third night. This is my experience just 15 days ago.

Hi my daughter Shreya is now 10 months and she only recently began taking formula milk, I still have to breast feed her during the night. She just would not take a milkbottle or a sippy cup, I have been feeding her milk with a spoon!!! She is now taking to the taste of formula and I will start giving it to her in a cup. I know how upsetting and frustrating it can be, especially when they are not putting the weight on like they should be. You have to keep trying and trying!!! She does not sleep through the night but she is also teething which does not help.

Speak to u soon.

My daughter's name is Jhil. She still wakes up at night crying. Sometimes I breastfeed her if it's more than 4 hrs since she went to sleep, otherwise I rock her in my lab and she goes to sleep. She doesn't have any teeth yet, that worries me, but her doctor says it's normal. Babies are fun, aren't they? Jhil is my first one. How about Ritaj? Is he your first one too? Take Care and Take a good care of that little one.

Talk to you later,
Shalini

Hi Baishali,
How are you? It's great to hear from you again. Jhil doesn't like fruit juice either. It's too strong for her. I tried to dilute it with water, but she still didn't like it. She eats solids though. She likes Barely and Oatmeal cereal in water (she doen't eat with milk), I also make all the babyfood at home. I buy organic fruits and vegges. She likes carrots and apples, sweet peas as well as sweet potatoes. She also likes pear. I mix and match lot of stuff like she wouldn't eat carrots by itself, but she would eat carrots mixed with either apples or pears. She also eats Dal-rice. She also likes apples or pears mixed with her cereal too. She didn't like commercial babyfood, so I started to make them at home. I steam some vegges like carrots and sweet potatoes and then puree them in the babyfood grinder. Other food like apples and pears I boil them for a few minutes and then puree them. They taste really fresh and since it doens't have all those preservatives, I like them too. Take care and Keep in touch,

Bye

Hi,
I don't think it's possible to wean your son in a day. You could try giving him formula. I have 8 months old daughter, although I am planning to breastfeed her until she is one year old. I am weaning her to sippy cup. I just pump out my milk and she drinks that milk from the sippy cup. Try giving him formula once a day for a weak and gradually increase that amount until he is drinking only from the cup or a bottle. It might take more than month, but that's what my doctor suggested and he says that way my baby won't feel left out either. Hope this helps.
