Trying since long:Had miscarriage once...Trying again

Hi friends,
I am married for 4 years now...we started trying for a baby last year and I conceived in 4 months time. When I was around 16 weeks pregnant I had a miscarriage. The foetus was very small and I feel it wud have died much earlier. But my doc diagnosed this case as cervical incompetency and said that next time when I conceive she will put a stitch so the placenta does not get down. But I am very confused because even if it is cervical incompetency the baby should have atleast been the size of a normal 16 week old foetus.

I am trying to conceive now and its just not working out. I'm quite upset about the whole thing. Please help if anyone can throw some light on this.
Also I want to know some good gynec in Bangalore. I live near Indiranagar.

Thanks in advance. Looking for help....

hi divya,
my sis in law had to go thru the same thing, she had a miscarriage in 6th month of her pregnancy n the foetus was not normal, she was then diagnosed with thyroid. so my advice is to get ur hormones done again, she had to under go treatment for an year for thyroid and then she conceived & even her placenta was low so she got a stitch in 3rd month of her pregnancy, and a complete bed rest for 9 months. n now her daughter is 4 years old. so don't worry u'll get a good news soon.
love

Hi Prerna,
Thanks for sharing this with me. After my miscarriage I had taken a thyroid test and it was found to be normal. Anyways...since its a year now, I shall do the test again.
By the way, if you are from Bangalore, can you pls recommend a good gynec near Indiranagar area ? Thanks very much for your help.
Love..
Divya.

Divya,
You should not worry on what happened last time. Not necessarily things will repeat. If your cervix indeed will be short after conception you can go for cerclage as suggested by your Dr.

I see no reason for not conceiving besides you stressing out yourself.

We have been married for the last 12 years. We are trying for a baby but unfortunately every time it's disappointing. I had 3 abortion, 2 Ectopic pregnancy, 1 IUI failure and 2 IVF failures. I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
