hi all,
am living in a small town Salem at Tamil Nadu.here we donot get yogurt.my son is 14.5 months old doesnot drink a drop of milk for the past 4 months.he likes only solid food ,things given in spoon.am compensating milk by giving cheese and adding milk to solids now.also i tried getting yoghurt from Coimbatore 150 kms from our place,he liked it a lot.we cannot go to city always to get it.can someone tell me if it can be made at home itself?!is it same as lasse?!also i read in Hetals post that cheese should not have more than 4-5 ingredients.can someone clarify me on these.b' cos amul and brittania are the only good brands avail here.r they good??but they have more ingredients listed??can i continue that??my son takes 20 g of cheese slice daily as a separate serving.since Samarth is not doing well i dont want to disturb hetal.pls friends can someone clarify if yoghurt can be prepared at home and how do u store it and regarding cheese?!!

i think you are talking about curd. i had same questions to hetal some time back and she said dat if the curd is fresh and iz not sur than you can give it. only thing is we have to give it at room temperature and during noon or afternoon time.dunt give in mornings or night time.
add very little water to make it lassi type consistensy.my child loves it. i also add some vanilla flavour sometimes complan or chocolate powder to it to make it a different taste.check some old posts of hetal of making your baby eat yogurt there are lotz of recipes in dat.
about cheese too i had asked her and i also mentioned to her the ingrediants of amul and britaniaa . she was okay with sharp chedar amul.i was at my moms' place in mumbai at dat time so it waz available there. i have no idea about tamilnadu.

Hi there,

If I am not wrong, are u talking about CURD?? Its very easy to make it at home.

Just boil some milk and when its lukewarm (just put ur finger and it should not hurt u) then add 1/2 spoon of curd in it and cover it overnight. Next day morning, it will be ready!! in warmer places, it can even be done in 6-7 hours. so just check with temp.

Once it is done, u can keep it in fridge and use it after some time..it will be really thick and firm :)

About cheese, sorry I dont have any idea.
