Feeding:Weaning schedule and related reciepe

Hi Moms, Hetal

My son is four and half months old (weight 7.2 Kg, BW was 2.5 Kg). I have just started Nestum Rice - 3-4 spoon twice a day mixed with Lactogen-1.

Can you please tell what are all I can give him and at waht frequency now and going forward.

Also can someone point out for receipes (if any)

offer in line as below/boiled/strained/pureed or mashed with fork/spoon :
vegetables :
1. carrots,2. winter squash//squash //if not available, replace here tender sweet corn (boiled, mashed,strained)3. green beans ///check for gas,,add in a lil sprinkle of hing while pressure cookng them,,it will avoid gas probs.4. sweet potatoes & corn5. spinach or ne indian vegetables,,lauki/gourd, boiled brocolli,,or ne other,,,start introducng after this,all kind of vegetables,,Fruits:1. applesauce.2. bananas3. peaches4. pears.5. prunes or apricots///one high fibr fruit,mostly by this time your baby will be eating barley cereal, oatmeal and rice all tgoether or in all feeds,,and all these iron fortified cereals might cause mild constipatn.and after all of the above,,once introduced,,one per week or a fruit/vegie lets say 3-4days,,,introduce your child with cauliflower, potato(as far as your baby likes sweet potato,,make sure to offer that first ! and avoid potato, until 9months),along with all these,,goes single grains, combinations of single grains with diff combinations of vegies and fruit medleys..whatever you offer,,offer boiled with skin,, strained, pureed or mashed with fork acc to prefrnces of texture by your child,,..all this if started from 6-7months,,your child will have options of eating ne of the 5 vegies and 5 fruits,,with 5 other foods(grains, lentils, beans, sprouts and proteins),,by the time he is 9months,,,so is ready for multigrains and roti soaked in dal(toor dal, with more water,so to say toor dal water with hing,curryleaves tadka ! )

for other refernces on other ideas about solids at 6months and plannng upto 9months, refer to post with message id 6593 and 6452. it will give you some ideas and recipes too.all requirements, serving size and details are mentioned in those posts.

for 4-4.5months old diet schedule, refer to post dated 2006-12-28, by poster name smitha kalluparambil, with subject introducing solids at 4.5months. it has it all !
