I am on second round of IUI and waiting for results!!! How many times should one do IUI. I read that it can be done 4 times...but i am not very sure....
Can you please tell me your views?

Thanks for the replies. I read in Dr. Malpani website that after 4-5 times, it is not recommended....

Ria, i don't think i would have that much patience to try 12 times....but ever sionce i started my treatment (Mar-06), i always thought this would be the last cycle...and i am still on with the tmt..

I am due for my cycle this month...having a slight discomfort in my tummy...may be not successful...nevertless...thanks every one...

IUI

Hi Padma,

IUI can be done any number of times
during the peak reproductive age cycle
(22-30) for women.

Normally, 5-8 times repeated trials
is considered good if your husband's
sperm count is above average.

Because IUI is very much like natural conceiving process I don't think there is any limit. If one can afford continue to do it every other cycle until get pregnant:-)

Hi Priya
IUI is Intra uterine insemination. They will collect the semen sample and process in the lab to remove the active, motile sperm and that is injected into the cervix directly. This is supposed improve fertility chances as the travel time for the sperm from vagina to uterus is reduced...but having said this...the success rates are again not very great. Collectively put together in 4 cycles, the success is 50%!!!
This procedure is done for patients who have unexplained infertility, low sperm count, motility etc.,

I have done 5 times IUI with interval of 2 months each time with no success. But there are couples who have done 8 to 9 times IUI.IUI have no limit at all.i got one who concieved in her 12th IUI cycle in GG hospital chennai.
