Hi All,

Just wanted to know if any of you had any idea what is the best time to travel by air? I will be going to my mother's place for delivery and I was just wondering if any of you had heard from your doctors about the best time to travel. Do let me know.

My gyn said that before 27th week of your pregnancy . so i guess its safe to travel now!

AS of travelling by air to india not many airlines accept pregnnat women who are more than 32 weeks pregnant and teh ebst time to travel according to gynae is before u'r 7th month ends..
so try to go atleast by the end of 7th...cos u may deliver anytime after 34 weeks dear..so do take care..
and u need to get a letter form u'r gynae stating that u are so n so weeks preg nad fit to travel..which all the airlines will ask when u get u'r boarding pass ...

I asked my gynac this question abt 3 wks ago and he said if I am travelling within India ( since i am in mumbai) its ok to travel upto a month and half before due date. and if its abroad then abt 2 months before due date.

so i guess its safe to travel now!

Hi E,

My gyn did say that it was safe to travel upto 2 months before your delivery date. I am based in Bangalore and need to travel to Bombay for my delivery. My due date is on Dec 30th. To be on the safer side, Im planning to travel Nov 1st week. I guess its a little early but I we felt we ought not to take any chances :))
