Hi Suhanya,

I think the 7th month Blood test for diabetes is pretty much done in most centres in India. Its done early in the 7th month so that if you need to control your diet or exercise you can start soon. Later might be difficult. This is what I have heard.

Best,
Raji

Hi Suhanya,

I believe the test for gestational diabetes is done sometime in the 7th month. This is true in India as well as in US and Australia. My friend in US had her blood test done in her 7th month to check for blood sugar and it came positive. My sister in Australia had it done in her 7th month too, but it was negative. So I am under the impression that it is done round about the 7th month. Do you have it done everytime you go? I guess it could be done more frequently in cases where there is a family history of diabetes or of gestational diabetes.

Best,
Raji

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

hi
So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
