Feeding:Birthday party

Hello all,
Did not find a category to post this question so writing it here, hope it is fine and you all can answer on your views.

I have twin babies and we live in US. We are planning for their first birthday in summer and we were thinking of doing it in a outdoor park and want to know how it is for a first year party? We cannot do at home since it will be around 100 plus people so we are chosing between hall and park. We will be ordering food from outside. It will be the first experience for us but we will have our parents also with us for any help. I want to know if it is difficult to do it in a park vs. a hall for the first birthday. But we want to do it somewhat different and enjoyable for the invitees and take advantage of the good weather at that time. Can you please suggest on your ideas or it if is good to do only in a hall?

Also my in laws are coming from India and I can get anything needed for the party from there. I am thinking of getting some decoration stuff. Want to know if anything else like stuff for the goodie bags can be got from there? We might have around 30-40 kids in the party. Please advise. Thanks a lot.

Hi Chitra,
I have twin sons, and had their b' day party two months back - Made them Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. I had T-shirts printed \" Kid-name te pooh\" and \" Kid-name the tigger\" .
Had posters of Pooh & Tigger, got coloring books/story books of Pooh as the return gifts, birthday cake in pooh & tigger etc.

Actually, looking thru the net I found many stuff available in US, than in India.

If not this, go for a theme party - u can pick up mythological chars too.
Best of luck !!

Hi Chitra,

My friend has twin boys and celebrated their first birthday party in a park last July. It was a lunch party. We live in Atlanta and it was hot and a bit uncomfortable for the adults. But the small kids had a great time playing in the park. It would depend on where you are located. If you live in a very warm area you can have a tea party when it is cooler. But if you live in the north a lunch party at a park would be just great.

A hall would have the advantage of comfort but you might have to do something to keep the kids busy. Depending on the age of kids and your budget you could hire someone to keep them entertained. You could ask a close friend to organize some games.

There are stores in big cities in India which specialize in party wear (decorations and party favors for various budgets). Or you could get them some Indian themed CDs/VCDs/books.
Have fun!!
Hope this is a start, ST
