Thanks viju for ur reply. When I had done my chcekup in India 7/8 years ago, the indian docters had told me that I have PCOS. Then when I came to the US I again went for a chcekup here. 3 years ago I was told here also that I have very mild PCOS. I was on birth control for 2 years. And after that when I did my checkpup again gynac told me that I no longer have the PCOS problem. But, then I have iregular periods. Like after every 2 to 3 months.
I don't know why my gynac has not suggested me metformin. I had also asked her and she said clomid should work alone. Also, since last 2 months iam on clomid. But since I am getting regular periods now with clomid, the gynac said that the chances of cyst formation is 0. She siad once u have ur periods it means that you have no cyst. Is that true? Is that the case with you too viju? U got ur periods on cloimid and still got cyst is it? If so I will ask my gynac to go for an scan this month. She only checks me from vagina when I get my periods now. I go during my periods now every month for a vaginal test. Which is nothing but a simple examination of the cervix and the inner part of vagina i think.

Do, tell me what should I do. About cyst and metformin do guide me.

as Sonal said, if u r not comfortable with ur Doc, look for another.

I read in ur message that ur gyn told that if u get ur period there is no chance of cyst. This is not true in my case. This time i got my period on 32nd day. Bleeding and everything was normal. But on the D2 scan (Ultra sound) my doc found there was a cyst. if there is no cyst, then u can continue with clomid. so my doc said me to wait for one month and next month i again go with clomid.

how are u doing? I just read your posts.. About Metformin.. my doctor told me tht it is given when u have PCOS..Just like Viju said.. I too have PCOS.. So if ur doctor didnt give u Metformin .. means u dont need it.in fact in my case.. i had to continue it till the first trimester was over.. Again doctors in India dont agree with this.. but doctors in US think its a good idea to continue in first trimester.
As for clomid.. hmm.. it was actually prescribed to me by my doc in india and she gave me 100 mg to begin with. It didnt work for me.and nor did i get my periods..by then i was in US.. and so my doc here induced periods with prometrium.. I got periods and on CD 2 had to undergo ultrasound. they found good follicles n no cysts.. so i had a second cycle of clomid from day 3-7 and tht month I concieved.
If there are any cysts seen on ultrasound done on CD1-3 then ur doc will put u on birth control pills.. My doctor explained it.. as birth control pills will help regulate period and most likely the cyst will go away in the next cycle.
