when you say ur child is in ukg. I assume your child is just 4. Research has proof that at that age children learn through play a lot. Things like self-confidence, problem solving and even learning through imitation happens when children of any age especially your son's age play. Drilling them on adult things like numbers and alphabets (which by the way have no meaning to them) will result in aversion towards studies and also reluctance in learning new things. Your son needs to hear you and the adults in his life appreciate him a lot. If at all you think the school gives him this kinda homework (if I were you I will change schools) then try to do it in a fun way. Like may be make it a game between you two. Also have a reinforcer for example, \" you can say I will watch your favorite show with you when you are done\" or \" Let's play a game when you finish\" or make him his favorite dish when he is done. IMO, I think you child is just being a child and his adults need to change their \" attitude\" about him wanting to play.
