Hetal replied. 1. egg yolks(if you are eggitarn)
2. soy and its products(soy kheema, soy curd, soy beans, tofu, tempeh, soy butter, soy milk, n other products of soy..look for iron fortified ones or calcium fortified ones.avoid taking ne food that contains gluten so look for gluten free ! soy nuggets, soy chips all comes in diff shapes n sizes,,,look for it in health food stores.also tofu often comes in 4 grades of firmness, firm, extra firm for stews, casseroles, grillng n stir fry(these not much liked by babies or toddler as they are quite chewvy),,,look for soft n silken tofu which is ideal for mashng, mixing with other vegies, sauces, spreads, desserts, or just to mash n offer !
3.lentils and legumes provide good proteins, easy to digest, cook in form of dal or curries or throw them with rice with some vegies ! great meal !
4.start offering overboiled sprouts of - whole moong. high in protein nd fibr great to cook n store too !
avoid channa, might prove gassy !
5. at 8months compltn you can start offering Hard cheese(great source of protein ! ),brown rice, brocolli, potatoes,,,apart from that, carrots, apples, butter, has nominal proteins ! so include them as his diet more oftn !
wheat is great to start as a protein, offer roti soaked in dal and introduce wheat ocne your child complts 9months.also, offering other sources of protein like milk prducts, yogurt, once your child complts 8months full,,,he is ready for all good protein foods ! start with yogurt/yo baby if in US or home made fresh yogurt in midnoons or as a part of lunch.nearly all vegetables contribute more or less serving of plant proteins so include them in ne way you can and watever is available at your reach in his meals !
tabouli salad(bulgar wheat with vegie and parsley),,bean soups, pastas all provide good proteins,,look for the ones that does not contain enriched flour !
and all these are enough for 8months OLD(8MNTHS COMPLTN)..
