Hi all,

I am taking treatment for PCOS from Dr.------- of Reproductive Science Centre,San Ramon.Clomid never worked for me...Infact i ovulated with clomid 100mg(all cycles) but couldnt conceive though.I was on clomid for 8 cycles which indeed caused me severe constipation .Then i went for IUI (with clomid 100mg and HCG injection )as my Dr suggested and that was also failure.Now my Dr wants to go for Injectible IUI(FSH inj cycle, which may cost $4000 with medicine).My concern is I doubt is my Doc pushing me towards IVF? Because my expected period is 4th of Oct(My progestreone test result came today and I didnt ovulate this cycle).She wants me to kickstart my cycle with prometrium today itself.

I ahve been on metformin 1500mg for 4 months.

Infact this fertility drugs and dr visits and family problems created lots of stress and i am taking accupuncture for last 2 months for stress management.I took a break from RSC and stopped clomid .I could see my stress is under control and got my periods of my own.Infact,my Dr was happy that i got periods of my own and took ultrasound (it was on day 16)and told me that there are no considerable size follicles...so i may have ovulated during day 11/day12 and my uterus lining was also good.

Do i need to wait for my periods this cylce or do i need to follow my Dr and kickstart with prometrium? I am confused and depressed...I need your inputs abt RSC and injectible IUI treatments and expenses.

I was told that IVF in India costs Rs.2Lakh.If this cycle doesnt work is it good to go for IVF directly in India?

I read your message, i wanted to share my experience with you. I am married for the past 11 years and for 8 years i was not able to conceive and when i conceived i lost the baby in 60 days and then went for a test detecting Natural killer cells in the body which showed that it was on high, i underwnet a treatment called LIT, this went on for about 6 months and then i was on clomid and after 3 cycles went for IUI. in the 3rd cycle of IUI i conceived and once again lost around the same days and then the foetus was sent for examination and it was found i had TB in the uterus and then went ofr a treatment for 9 months and then started once again on IUI, found out at that time i was having a block on the right side of the uterus. It was truly a torturous time, every time i have clomid , the progestrone inj. and finaaly find out that the egg has developed in the right side and there is no use doing IUI. felt like throwing everthing. Shd thank my husband who stood by me to continue the treatment. The month i had the ovary formed in hte right side, i did not go for IUI and we both decided to go for a trip outside our home, so we drove down for a hill station , did not have any tension and whew!!!!!!!! can u believe i was pregnant that time and right now my due is on oct 27. So do not give hope everything can change, I have no idea abt the IVF cost but i know something, pray to god, be less stressful(i know it is difficult)and enjoy being with him, if u want take a break from the treatment and have faith in yourself you will have a baby soon. all the best.
