hi friends,
has anyone gone thru HSG test. what is the procedure? how long does it take? n is it painful? pls post suggestions if any.

hey Prerna,I've gone throught HSG. it's not that painful, u'll just feel a little cramping for 3-5 sec.
what they'll do is just place a speculum on cervix opening, Then put a very thin cathedral there, after that they'll inject some contrast material(i.e. Dye)and at the same time X-Ray will be taken .The results are instant so ur doc. will tell u about ur tubes open/close.
hope i m clear enough. i think it usually takes 15 min.(in my case and not very painful).But yes thats obvious if they r putting something in ur cervix u'll feel little discomfort but trust me it's just like a menstral cramping for seconds.
