Hi All,

I am a expecting mom in Dec board. I am in my 24th week. I can feel the babies kicking and movements. Can anyone suggest me how to do the excercise. Because most of the time i will be sitting in my office cube i can't even take little breaks. Now a days i am getting lot of work to do so i am unable to go for my little walks. Once i have come back from my work with all the cooking and cleaning i was tired and i can't go for walk. Can anyone please suggest me little excercises that i can do in my cube.

Thanks

Hi SRK,
How are you doing? When is your Due date and Are you from India? Sorry for asking lot of question as I have not seen your post much here.
I am completing my 23rd week and my due date is 4th Dec. I am from Pune (India). Regarding the excercise... then I feel that if you are working in India then you get lot of excercise while doing your house hold work.
If I give my example... Even I have to sit for whole day.. But I do get sometime in between for roaming around the office and gossiping with other lady employee.. Now a days I usually get up at 7AM and till 9:30AM I am on my feet. Cooking and preparing the lunch box for my self and my hubby. As well as preparing the snacks so that I can have them in between. Here I hardly get any help from my hubby.
In evening I leave my office sharp at 6PM. My hubby comes me to pick up and drop me at home and again goes back to home. So I ask him to start at 6:15PM from his office and I leave at 6:00Pm and go walking, So till the time he catches me on the road its will be till 6:25Pm or 6:30PM.
If bychance there is a more work and I am not able to leave early.. then he pick's me up from office and drops me in the mid way from where I can walk up to home(again 15 to 20min of walk). Once I reach home I lay down for 30min and start cleaning and all stuff which again will take till 9:30Pm (No help from hubby as he reach home only after 9:30PM). Till you have your dinner... you will be so tired and sleepy.
I usaully prepare extra chappati in the morning only so that in evening I can prepare only Rice and Dhal which will be faster.
This is how my day start and ends.. I will be boaring for you to read.. but do try....

Again sorry for long message.. Bye take care.

apart from what GA has suggested one small advice from my side is that you should try doing the kegel excercises which can b done anywhere n anytime.they r very simple n can b done while sitting or standing or even walking or whatever u r doin.u shud atleast start doin them.it helps a lot in strendthnin the muscles needed durin delivery.
take care n all the best

I went through a similar situation when I was pregnant with the first child. But I would force myself to take 5-10 breaks whenever possible at work. I would climb the stairs slowly (when you use the stairwell you will not bump into anyone and be forced into unnecessary small talk).

At home I didn't get much help from husband, so I would only cook large quantity once in two-three days. The rest of the days I just ignored the piling dishes. Sometimes you have to think of yourself and not bother with the house work. If you do not get help, don't think you have to do it all yourself.

That way I used to get time to walk. Even if you walk three or four times a week it is fine.

If you can afford, try to get a cleaning service atleast once or twice a month for the vacuuming. Don't worry about that extra expense. I overstrained and ended up having preterm labor. It is not worth the risk.

Just take it easy.

good luck, GA

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
