Hi Hetal..
I m sorry for bothering u in this state but u can answer if u feel fine
Sanah has always been a very difficult eater.Of late she has been catching cold frequently..may b its caused by her teething. At 18 months she has cut only 5 teeth & 2 more can b partly seen cming out.
Is it fine if all her three major meals she wants to take r sweet...like sweet dalia wid carrots, sooji kheer, Oats, Fruit custard, mashed biscuits(snacks) etc.
What can i do to reallly reduce her chances of catching cold. I have been cont. giving her fruits & fresh juices & soups depending on her acceptance. What shud b the time difference between her meals &mini meals & milk... Like if u can give me a normal eating schedule of this age child.she wants to take milk atleast thrice a day wid bottle... but that reduces her appetite. If i avoid giving her milk & instead want her to have solids instead... she getys cranky. At times she willl pose that she is sleepy & wants milk.. but then no sleep after taking milk but that makes her miss a meal
I m really upset over her eating & its a tension for me to feed her food.
Please Help if u can.

you said it right,,she is teethng,,,
if she is more inclined in takng sweet things,,offer the things with jaggery and not sugar ! also alternate things like custard with sweet potato puree, raisins, boiled n mashed dates(very good for health,,18months good for cold too,,make sure they are boiled, mashed and strained,,make in a bunch and store in fridge !,,stays in upper most shelf for 4-5days,,try offerng a mashed one once a while and see if she accepts it,,boiled once genraly dont give ne probs,,bt if its a new food for her,,avoid offerng or takng chances,,you never know how body reacts when its in bad shape),offer other natural sweetness like banana, peas, and such,,avoid direct sugars,,,,give natural and such alternativess...
since she has a sweet tooth,,you can give her sweet kashaai(roast the flour approx 2-4tablesppon,,properly in ghee with some cardamom,1/4th or less ginger pwder(dpnding on how strong it is), 1/4th spoon ganthoda powde(pipramul pwder/you will get this in ne ayurvedic store),roast all these well until aroma comes...
at the same time, keep some water to boil, add in jaggery to it,,and let it dissolve...
once the flour and spices are mixed well, add the jaggery water and let it boil nicely..if required you can add extra pwderd jaggery at the end,,if the spices have turned out the be stronger ! great kashaai for all kids above 15months,and good for health...
esp for those kids who love sweet things..offer this warm with roasted bread or crackers,or as it is,,she will like it..its tasty too..you can adjust the taste just make sure that ginger pwder is not much otherwise it will be hot for her body.balance it well with proper ghee and piprimul.
time diffrnce and all diet stuffs, check in the charts/links below you will get better idea :

if milk is something she wants to drink all the time,,,try to altnerate it with soy milk,,best in cold..and if not, reduce her milk fat level to low fat milk or 1% milk...so that it will not disturb her meals !
my dd is 16-17mnths and in morning i gv her 2% milk,,to make her eat her breakfast !!! if she takes whole milk,,she skips breakfast...
so see if something like works on her.
no prb,,give her watever she wants during teething,,try your best to make her eat in whatver it appeals..offer other foods along with sweet foods and see if she eats that way,,like first bite of sweet food n thn the regular food,,keep doing that...see if it works out and she eats other things..,,,
offer lots of fruits,,if sweetness is something she likes,,offer cherries, sweet ones,,strawberries, throw in some minced banana pieces(very few in it) and mix it lightly with cut berries or other fruits,,,she might accept as the outer layer tastes sweet !!!
alternatly you can try reducing her milk intake,,and offer watever you can that appeals her...teethng is one thing that we mother have to deal with all the time it upsets thr schedule..yours is better,,she eats something,,mine used to fast for days togther....
lots of love to lil brilliance :)
take care, good luck
