Dear Friends,

I have a 17 month old daughter, she is basically very active and keeps everyone happy, but when it comes to eating she is very bad, if she takes breakfast she doesn't eat lunch and dinner, if she takes dinner, she doesn't eat other 2, she usually doesn't take lunch at all, this is happening since last 15 days, b'fore that she was ok. she has 12 teeth already so i don't thing she is teething also. what could be the problem, she usually drinks around 20 to 25 oz milk and she is a very picky eater, basically she doesn't like anything... she eats few fruits like banana, apple, pear....
i am really worried as she is thin and doesn't eat properly, has anybody gone through this, if so how did u overcome this.

thanks for any suggestions...

worried mom...

Hi,
At the age of 17 months a baby should drink no more than 14-16 oz of milk ( this is stated in various US websites dealing with child nutrition). So try to decrease the milk quantity and see if she eats more solid.I too have a 13.5 month old baby and she also didnot like much to eat. So we decreased milk quantity and spaced the feedins more - 3-4 hrs on an average. Like between lunch (1.00pm)and dinner (9.00 pm ) she takes only a cup of milk( thats 4-5oz) and any mashed fruit.
Doctors say that it is normal that kids lose interest at food during this age.
So dont worry..
