Name: Nikk's Hi Archie,

If you remember my last message regarding my being on clomid and follicle size being 14mm and 19mm respectively. I did not conceive in that cycle as I started with my periods on Aug 20. Now I will be starting my second clomid cycle on Aug 23rd and I am going for IUI this time. I have my ultrasound on 1st Sept to check my follicle size and then accordingly i will be given the novarel injection. I wanted to know from you that do I need to have two IUI's done or one is enough? and also do I BD along with IUI if yes then which all days should I BD?

IUI is not radically different from natural conception. It's success rely more on timing. You will be injected once in the cycle not twice. If you want you can intercourse as well a day before and on the day of ovulation. However if the semen sample is also taken on one of these days then intercourse might be of no help because there will be limitation of mature sperms.

IUI can be failed for a series of cycle and someone can try to be on Clomid for six cycles in a row.

Thanks for the info archie. Since my IUI will be scheduled exactly after 36 hours of getting injected with novarel. should I BD during this 36 hours or just BD 2 days before getting the injection?
