i've already tried 3 cycles with clome with timed natural intercourse.nothing happened.i've also tried 1 cycle IUI..it failed too.all this time the sperm count was low but still the doctor never asked a doppler scan for my husband.we decided to seek a second opinion from a urologist and got to know about varicocele.now i dont know if to go for his surgery first or to give another IUI a shot?and maybe then have his varicocele surgery?i'm confused. archie replied. it's you who will choose an option. Because his count is not that low although not extravagant. you may conceive by IUI/IVG or even by natural method. Provided he does not get stressed, whin in itself will reduce quantity and quality of sperms.

I know cases who failed 5 or all six clomid trials, besides it's not necessary to put you on clomid when he has trouble of varicocele.

IUI too is not a bliss and many here on this vary site has experienced failure and success as well, againt he key is to keep both partners relaxed than get tensed.

If surgery will help him get not stressed on his perfomance then go for that. but he thinks he won't get stressed without surgery confide in him and his performance and try around ovulation or give shots for IUI or IVF, weigh expenses before choosing option and most importantly you both should be comfortable with that option.
